| Turban as Sunnah? |

There are some Ahadith about the Turban. It is sure, that the Prophet often wore a headcover and a Turban. Some scholars hold the opinion, that this is a cultural custom of clothing and other scholars say, that this is a behavior of the prophet which is worth to follow. As an example we have the hadith, written by muslim, which says: “The Prophet (saw) wore a turban and a he let a two-hands long end of the turban hang between his shoulders“ At the Conquer of Makkah the Prophet wore a black Turban. In an uncertain Hadith it is said: “A Prayer with Turban is much more worth than a prayer without it.“ In a Hadith the Prophet also said: “The Angels are wearing Turbans.“ Its sure that the Prophet wore a Turban. I cant say if this a culture bound behavior, neutral in matters of worship or important in this matters. Wa Allahu Alem [And Allah knows best] |
